Please check that your pitcher model is compatible before ordering. This product includes replacement filter cartridges only and does not include the full water jug.
When to Replace
Replacement frequency depends on water usage and local water quality. Follow the Alkanatur instructions and replace filters when due, or sooner if water flow or taste changes noticeably.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Soak and Activate the Filter:
- Fill the pitcher or a bowl halfway with tap water.
- Submerge the filter for about 20 minutes (you can place the water tank on top of it so it does not float) to let it release internal air bubbles
- Install the Filter in the Tank:
- Remove the filter and empty the pitcher.
- Place the filter tank on a stable, flat surface (do not push it in while it is inside the transparent jug, to avoid cracking it).
- Insert the filter with the grill facing up and the small hole facing down, pressing it firmly into place until it sits flush at the bottom of the tank.
- Flush the First Cycles:
- Place the assembled tank into the jug and fill it completely with tap water from the sink.
- Let the water filter through completely and discard the first 2 to 3 full batches of water (you can use this initial flush water for your plants).
- Note: The water may look slightly grayish or black during these first runs; this is completely normal and comes from the natural coconut active charcoal.
- Assemble the Jug:
- Put the reservoir and lid back onto the transparent pitcher.
- Your jug is now ready, and you can start drinking the water from the 4th cycle onward for the best taste.
