MYCOTOXINS
Mycotoxins are poisonous compounds generated by fungus that grow on grains and animal feeds. It may occur during plant development, storage, and processing. Toxins that cause the most harm to animals are present in cereal grains. Temperature, moisture, pH, feed type, and broken grain count all impact mycotoxin formation. The principal mycotoxin generating fungus are Aspergillus, Fusarium, and Penicillium.

Mycotoxins may cause significant economic losses by suppressing the immune system and reducing feed conversion efficiency. Toxicities may cause mortality and reproductive failure.

These poisons can be consumed by humans.

Given that Aflatoxin B1 is one of the most carcinogenic substances known (WHO), food makers must eradicate mycotoxins whenever feasible. Other carcinogenic mycotoxins include Ochratoxin A and Aflatoxin M1.

Excess ammonia in the GI tract is harmful and needs detoxification. NuFeed® saves energy by preferentially absorbing ammonia. Heat stress may be caused by mycotoxin-contaminated feed and pastures. NuFeed® naturally binds mycotoxins and securely transports them.

NuFeedreactive ®'s surface enhances digestion efficiency by slowing digester passage through the animal.

IMPORTANT NUFEED CHARACTERS

NuFeed® is sourced from natural zeolite deposits south of Rotorua in New Zealand's central north island. 250,000 years ago, vigourous volcanic activity deposited these Zeolites in lakebed sediments.

In the presence of hot water (120°C), the clays became soft rocks with organised internal structure sequences.

They behave differently from other zeolites mined in other regions of NZ, Australia, USA, and Europe due to their geological youth.

NUFEED'S IONIC ADSORBING POWER

An amorphous material was washed from the clays during thermal alteration leaving a 2D skeleton of aluminium and silica oxides with a high negative charge (cation exchange capacity; generally > 100 meq/100gm). Cations in solutions (or atoms in air) may be absorbed by Zeolite, and then released depending on cation concentration, charge properties and pH.

Large interior surface area (145m2/gm) with lattice work pores that enable certain molecules to enter and be trapped while excluding others. Younger zeolites like NuFeed® have fewer lattice blockages and hence can absorb more liquids than older, more glassy zeolites. These newer zeolites may adsorb up to 100% of their own weight in water/liquid.

NUFEED MYCOTOXIN ADMIN

Studies on NuFeed potential ®'s to adsorb mycotoxin in animal feed. This product binds toxin, ammonia and other gases to increase feed pelleting and mineral utilisation.

NuFeed® naturally absorbs mycotoxins in feed due to its unique structure. NuFeed® has been tested for adsorption capacity in New Zealand.

1st test

The first research measured the impact of NuFeed® applied at 1% or 2.5% to an artificial gastric juice containing 0.5g/mL or 2g/mL ochratoxin A. This toxin is found worldwide and binds to various commercial aluminosilicate feed additives. The results revealed that adding 1% NuFeed® decreased free ochratoxin in solution by 50-60% in 15 minutes and 70-80% in 120 minutes. Adding (2.5%) NuFeed® boosted adsorption by eliminating around 80% of free solution ochratoxin in 15 minutes and 94% in 120 minutes.

No. 2

Toxins BI, B2,G1, and G2 were tested in an artificial gastric juice at 50 and 100ng/ml (corresponding to 50 and 100 mg toxin/kg fed).

NuFeed® was introduced at 1% and 2.5%.

Aflatoxin B1 and G1 were completely eliminated in 15 minutes at 1% NuFeed®, as were Aflatoxin B2 and G2.

USE OF NuFeed®

Mix 0.25 to 5% (w/w) with rations and feed normally. During the summer, New Zealand dairy cows were given up to 1 kilogramme NuFeed® per day (6.25 percent addition rate) with no adverse effects.

The addition of NuFeed® to calf food significantly reduced scours.
NuFeed® is a great transporter for ration additives.
Nutritional supplement NuFeed® helps moulted layer eggs.
Due to its tiny particle size, NuFeed® is simple to mix and add to strengthen pellets.
NuFeed® comes in loose, bulk, and 25kg sacks.
